  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

Author Guidelines for IJOETR

The International Journal of Education, Technologies and Research (IJOETR) welcomes original research articles, review papers, and case studies in the fields of education, technology, and interdisciplinary engineering. To ensure a smooth and efficient publication process, all authors must strictly adhere to the following guidelines. Manuscripts that do not comply with these requirements will be returned to the authors prior to peer review.

1. File Format

  • All manuscripts must be submitted in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx).
  • PDFs are not accepted for initial submission.
  • File size must not exceed 20 MB.

2. Formatting Requirements

  • Font: Times New Roman, 12-point size throughout.
  • Line Spacing: 1.5 spacing throughout the entire document.
  • Margins: 2.54 cm (1 inch) on all sides.
  • Page Limit: Manuscripts should not exceed 20 pages, including references and appendices.
  • Word Count: 4,000–8,000 words (excluding abstract and references).
  • Language: Manuscripts must be written in clear, professional English. Authors whose first language is not English are strongly encouraged to have their manuscript proofread before submission.

3. Article Structure

Manuscripts must follow the IMRaD structure in the order listed below:

  • Title: Concise, informative, and no longer than 20 words. Avoid abbreviations in the title.
  • Author Information: Full name(s), institutional affiliation(s), and email address(es) of all authors. The corresponding author must be clearly indicated. ORCID iDs are strongly encouraged.
  • Abstract: 150–250 words summarising the purpose, methodology, key results, and conclusions. Do not include citations, abbreviations, or undefined terms in the abstract.
  • Keywords: 4–6 relevant keywords, separated by commas, placed immediately after the abstract.
  • Introduction: Background, problem statement, and objectives of the study.
  • Methodology / Materials and Methods: A sufficiently detailed description to allow replication.
  • Results: Clear presentation of findings without interpretation.
  • Discussion: Interpretation of results in the context of existing literature.
  • Conclusion: Summary of key findings, limitations, and recommendations for future research.
  • Acknowledgements (optional): Recognition of funding sources, institutions, or individuals who contributed to the research.
  • References: Listed in accordance with the citation style specified in Section 5.

4. Figures and Tables

  • All figures, images, and tables must be embedded directly within the text at the appropriate location, not appended at the end of the document.
  • Images must be of high resolution (minimum 300 dpi).
  • Each figure and table must have a clear, descriptive title and must be numbered consecutively (e.g., Figure 1, Table 1).
  • Figure captions are placed below the figure; table titles are placed above the table.
  • All figures and tables must be explicitly referenced in the main text (e.g., "as shown in Figure 2").

5. References and Citation Style

  • Educational and technology manuscripts must follow APA Citation Style, 7th Edition.
  • Applied engineering manuscripts must follow IEEE Citation Style.
  • All in-text citations must correspond to an entry in the References section, and vice versa.
  • DOI numbers must be included for all referenced articles where available, formatted as a hyperlink (e.g., https://doi.org/10.xxxx/xxxx).
  • References to unpublished works, personal communications, or non-peer-reviewed sources should be kept to a minimum.

6. Originality and Plagiarism

All submissions must represent original work that has not been previously published and is not currently under review by another journal. Self-plagiarism is equally prohibited.

IJOETR uses professional plagiarism detection software to screen all submissions. Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding 15% (excluding references and quoted material) will be automatically rejected without review. Authors may be asked to provide the original plagiarism report upon request.

Articles

This section publishes original, high-quality research articles focusing on the integration of education and modern technologies, including EdTech, digital learning, artificial intelligence in education, engineering education, information systems, and applied technological research. All submissions must present novel findings, demonstrate scientific rigor, and undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process.
